The True/False Film Fest is just around the corner. Passes (not tickets) have sold out, and locals and visitors are looking forward to four days of films. But movies won’t be the only form of entertainment this weekend: Artists have prepared displays at several venues.

Mike Taylor has assembled a collection of plane crash pieces in his large installment to be be displayed in the lobby area of Stephens College’s Windsor Auditorium. In conjunction with this piece, there will be mock x-rays of different pieces of luggage.

Glenn Rice, who is also a part of the production team for True/False, has created LED sea creatures that will light up the ceilings of The Blue Note.

Camellia Cosgray has created a painting of the globe, which will be backlit to resemble stained glass. Cosgray’s work will be the largest display at the festival, and it will be featured at First Presbyterian Church.

For those who prefer interaction, a formally dressed Valerie Wedel, a performance artist, will be popping popcorn in the Forrest Theater lobby and will hand out one popcorn kernel at a time. Come early, in the past people have formed long lines to get their measly serving.

While you’re waiting in line for films, be sure to look out for these art pieces and others around the venues.
