If you’re itching with spring-cleaning fever, this Saturday’s 15th annual Cleanup Columbia is your remedy. More than 1,200 volunteers have already signed up for the citywide trash pick-up event, in which participants will scour CoMo’s streets, streams, trails and parks for any improperly pitched garbage.
Although online registration is no longer available, those looking to lend a hand can still take part in the effort. Anyone who hasn’t registered can show up at the Office of Neighborhood Services, located at 3601 S. Providence Road, during supply pick-up times. According the event’s website, two time slots still remain: Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 7 a.m. to
9 a.m.
Whether you’re a clean freak, looking for a good outdoor workout or just want to make Mother Earth happy, grab a trash bag (conveniently provided for you) and let the hunt begin. You know what they say — one man’s trash could
be another’s treasure. Who knows what litter loot you’ll score.
