Cue Pomp and Circumstance (or maybe Vitamin C, dependent on your preferences) because it’s graduation season in CoMo. With commencement around the corner, many graduates and their families will be looking for a place to celebrate without an enormous wait. Here are some tips to dining at these local favorites:
The Heidelberg, 573-449-6927
The Berg takes reservations, but be sure to call early – space tends to fill up quickly. Those wishing to make a reservation should call, and the Berg’s staff will try to accommodate their party.
Addison’s, 573-256-1995
This American grill won’t be taking reservations on MU’s graduation weekend. Stephens and Columbia College grads can call for this weekend, but reservations won’t be taken after 4:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Families who want to nosh on chicken nachos will want to be sure the majority of their party is present to be seated.
Flat Branch, 573-499-0400
CoMo’s popular brewery doesn’t take reservations, but Flat Branch recommends timing your meal at low-traffic times such as when they open or the late afternoon if possible. Families should note that the entire party must be present to be seated.
Coley’s American Bistro, 573-442-8887
For graduation weekend, Coley’s will require a $10 per person deposit that will be applied to the party’s bill in order to make a reservation.
Boone Tavern, 573-442-5123
Boone Tavern will accept reservations for its indoor seating – the courtyard seating is by walk-in only. Be sure to call ahead if you’re interested as space is filling up quickly.
Sophia’s, 573-874-8009
Addison’s sister restaurant holds the same reservation policy, but the dessert menu alone is worth the wait. Both Addison’s and Sophia’s recommend heading straight to the restaurant after the ceremony instead of taking pictures in order to beat the rush.
Murry’s, 573-442-4969
Murry’s doesn’t take reservations, and graduation weekend will be first come, first serve.

This is great, but I also would have explored outside options beyond the downtown scene in case people want to escape the craziness!
Thanks for the feedback, Kat. You’re right. It would be wise to provide other options to escape the craziness. Murry’s is the only listing outside of downtown.
