Check out our guide for what to watch on television this week. We promise to never recommend One Tree Hill.

Monday: Smash

When: 9 p.m.

Where: NBC

Why: Katharine McPhee wasn’t good enough to win American Idol, so is she good enough to star in a television show? We’ll find out this week with the pilot episode.

Tuesday: The River

When: 9 p.m.

Where: ABC

Why: Oren Peli, the man behind Paranornal Activity, is now terrorizing television with his new show. So if you like to be scared, I would definitely tune in. If you don’t, Parenthood is on!

Wednesday: Modern Family

When: 8 p.m.

Where: ABC

Why: OK, I had to post it at least once. And I chose this week because it’s guaranteed to be funnier than ever. Don’t believe me? Greg Kinnear is playing Phil’s new business partner who is blatantly inappropriate. Believe me now?

Thursday: Swamp People

When: 8 p.m.

Where: The History Channel

Why: Valentine’s Day episodes are everywhere, so here is your best chance to avoid all the romantic and oh-so-cheesy moments: Watch the new Swamp People episode titled, “Gator Gold Rush.” No, I’m not kidding.

Friday: Blue Bloods

When: 9 p.m.

Where: CBS

Why: Already a hit show, this new episode features a daughter who claims her mother’s heart attack was actually murder. And she knows this because God told her. That’s what I call quality entertainment.

Saturday: Saturday Night Live

When: 10:30 p.m.

Where: NBC

Why: Don’t miss the world’s most adorable actress host SNL this Saturday. No, it’s not Meryl Streep. It’s Zooey Deschanel.

Sunday: The 54th Annual Grammy Awards

When: 7 p.m.

Where: CBS

Why: LL Cool J hosts this year’s Grammy Awards. Unfortunately, his shirt is probably going to stay on. But on the other hand, Adele is going to perform. There’s a little something for everyone.
