It’s time to bring out those old werewolf duds collecting dust in the corner of your closet for Columbia’s first-ever Werewolf-Con May 4-6. There you can meet all of your werewolf, therian, shifter and otherkin needs. The convention is dedicated to creating awareness of and appreciation for all of these mythical creatures.
The convention includes a fashion show, art show, concert and a short film festival. The film festival will include short films that have a tie to the werewolf, otherkin, therian genre. The art show features art that has to do with, you guessed it, werewolves! Artists can sell their art at the show through a silent auction, which will have 10 percent of the proceeds go to the Endangered Wolf Center in Eureka, Mo. There’s even a werewolf burlesque show on Friday night put on by FyreFae Productions, which specializes in fetish performance art and sex education and outreach. Filmmakers, vendors and artists can all sign up online for the conference.
Just in time for the full moon on Saturday May 5 at 10:35 p.m., the conference will culminate in the first-ever Werewolf Ball.
Neither Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner nor Anna Paquin are scheduled to make an appearance at the conference.
The convention will be at the Midway Truck Stop. General admission is $15.

Just an quick update on this event – Werewolf Con was canceled in March 2012, refunds were promised to the vendors that had already paid, yet those refunds never came. Werewolf-Con and Con Extreme have closed up shop and vanished from the face of the internet… leaving behind a very irritated group of writers, artists, and crafters who shelled out hard earned money for a booth that never happened.
I must say that whatever ConExtreme, Jordan Polintan and someone going by the Werewolf Ball sign on of Elder Xyno’s endgame was, it certainly came across like a con. They took me and several others and we’re beyond unhappy.
