Spring break has come to an end (sad, I know), but that doesn’t mean that your workout regimen should stop now – summer is just a handful of weeks away! However, if this warm weather has you craving a cold cup of ice cream, don’t stress and don’t fight your cravings. Here are some healthy ice cream options for the 90-degree-weather days ahead:
Skinny Cow Vanilla/Chocolate Combo – Say hello to your new best friend! These little ice cream sandwiches pack all the flavor that you remember from your childhood ice-cream-sandwhich-eating days into 140 calories. You get six sandwiches in a box, so you’re basically covered for almost every day of the week.
Jamba Juice Coconut Pineapple Passion Smashin – As if the name itself isn’t enough to tempt you to try one of these tasty treats, the ingredients will! Made by the ever-nutritious company, Jamba Juice, these bars combine real fruit, sorbet and yogurt into a 90 calorie bar. If coconut pineapple passion goodness isn’t your thing, try one of the four other flavors.
Ben and Jerry’s Lemonade Stand Sorbet – One serving, which is equal to one scoop, is only 100 calories. The lemony taste is light and refreshing – perfect for a hot day!
McDonald’s Kiddie Cone - 45 CALORIES OF MCDONALD’S AWESOMENESS! No, they don’t check your ID when you order one, there’s no age limit so ignore the “kiddie” part of the title. And it’s McDonald’s, so the portion isn’t exactly “kiddie” sized, anyways.
If these don’t tickle your fancy, check out Yogoluv or Red Mango downtown in the District. They offer nutritional information and you’re able to add healthy toppings, such as fruit, to your yogurt of choice. And on top of the tastiness, most of the choices won’t cost you too many calories.
