There are many things in this world that I love — ice cream, laughing and of course St. Louis Cardinals baseball. Although I don’t really hate anything, I do strongly dislike one thing, and that’s negativity. Stay with me, I promise this has to do with baseball.
Saturday afternoon I pulled into my parking lot and saw a Cardinals shirt on my porch. I was slightly confused so I checked it out, only to find a No. 5 Albert Pujols T-shirt defaced. Both his name and number were marked out and some obscenities were written next to the number — an arrow drawn pointing to his now marked out name.
I understand the initial anger toward Pujols, but why now? If anything, that T-shirt should say thank you. Pujols is 15 games into his season with the Los Angeles Angels and still remains homerless. How many homeruns have the Cardinals hit this season? What is their record?
Well, after today, they are 11-5. They have not lost one series yet this season, which we can’t say for the Angels who are 6-10.
So, to the individual that defaced the Pujols shirt, stop with the negativity and look at the positives that came from this.
The Cardinals will play the Chicago Cubs Monday at 7:05 p.m.
