Community > This town was made for walking
The District’s blog “The District Scoop” has announced that the city is considering new walkability options for some of the main intersections around downtown. The additions also have some added aesthetic benefits. Planned improvements:
- Removal of the concrete overpass at Providence Road, north of Ash. The plan is to replace this bridge with accessible crosswalks.
- The city is also talking to Columbia Public Schools about prettying up the area outside Douglass High School .
- The pedestrian bridge at Stephens College is also up for an upgrade.
- The intersection of Walnut and College is also included in the crosswalk coup.
