Looking for some enlightenment on a Saturday afternoon? Feel the need to find some culture after the end of March Madness and the beginning of baseball season? Search no further than your local library!

Walter Bargen, Missouri’s first poet laureate, will be visiting the Columbia Public Library Saturday, April 7 at 2 p.m and will be reading from a selection of his works. The Outside Columbia Poetry Group is also a sponsor of the event. The reading will take place in the Friends Room.

He has received many awards and has been published in more than 100 magazines. His latest work is Endearing Ruins (2012), which is a parallel translation of English and German.
