Vox previews are my favorite! They make for great calendar fillers, and getting to design them is even more exciting.  It can be really overwhelming planning out more than 10 pages of event listings and still make them fun and well-paced.  But I am so excited about designing the upcoming Summer Preview.  I know I will hold onto my copy all summer long, so I want to make sure the design is fun enough to keep both you and me engaged.  Check out some of the preliminary themes I am working on, and vote for your favorite one!

Stacked Beach towels on mock VOX cover

I think this is the frontrunner right now.  This theme offers lots of opportunity for fun summer colors and typography, all things I love.  It would us a chance to show off our best towel patterns.

mock VOX cover with Icecream truck illustration

This is probably my second favorite potential Summer Preview theme.  Please excuse the very rough rendition of a classic ice cream truck, however. My biggest hesitation with this theme is that it would be too similar to our ice cream issue last summer.

River theme mock VOX cover

Boat travel! Again, this is quite a rough rendition of what this theme would look like.  I love the way it captures the feel of summer, and would offer up some fun illustration opportunities.

Road trip mock VOX cover

Finally, another poor digital sketch of a theme, but bear with me please.  The idea here is a road trip, which seems very summer oriented and would offer lots of fun ways to highlight different events going on in Mid-Missouri. Are we deceiving you into thinking these events are too far away?
