This Saturday marks Columbia’s first all-women half marathon and 5K Run/Walk. The Go Girl Run, which is hosted by Ultramax Sports, was created to celebrate women, health and fitness, and support several local women-centered charities. Unlike most races which have a charity pre-selected, the Go Girl Run allows participants to choose which cause they would like to support. And the 2012 Go Girl Charities are (drum roll, please):
1. Susan G. Komen Mid-Missouri Affiliate
2. March of Dimes, Mid-Missouri Chapter
3. Girls on the Run
4. Ronald McDonald House
5. Rainbow House
6. Children’s Miracle Network
Selecting which charity you want to support may be more difficult than running the race. So ladies, grab your girlfriends and go celebrate how awesome you are. You can get Saturday’s workout in and support a worthy cause.
