Turn off the lights, turn on the infrared camera, make four contestants vie for $5,000 IN THE DARK and voila — TV genius. The SyFy Channel decided to exploit people’s deep fear of the dark and temper it with Jaleel White as a host. That’s right. Steve Urkel.
Each week, contestants are asked to identify things with their remaining senses to move on. As you can probably imagine, hilarity ensues. The first episode alone has the show’s guinea pigs poking around tanks, eating food from people’s belly buttons and smelling a bunch of stuff.
At the end of each round, contestants have to jump onto a platform in which there are two possible outcomes:
1) You made it! Nice job landing safely on hard ground.
2) FREE FALLING INTO THE ABYSS, OHH MYYY GODDDD.
At the end, whoever is left standing wins $5,000. Worth the experience? Who knows, but my tears from laughing so hard certainly are.
The whole first episode is currently streaming on Hulu. When you’re done belly laughing, check out the next episode on the SyFy channel at 9 p.m. CST. Get on it early so you can say you knew about it when.
