Hickman students are hosting a fundraiser full of magic and fun. Inspired by J.K. Rowling‘s famed book series, the Kewpie’s building will transform from a high school into Hogwarts in order to raise money for the ELIMINATE project.

The evening will begin with the Galleon Games, where young muggles can participate in activities where they can: be sorted, taste Bert’s Every Flavor Jellybeans, have their fortune told by Professor Trelawney’s dear sister, write a letter on parchment and send it by owl (yes, there will be real, live owls courtesy of MU Raptor Rehab Project), de-gnome the Hickman High School front yard and dunk a Death Eater.

In addition to the Galleon Games, there will also be a silent auction and the main event, Harry Potter Trivia. For every $1.80 raised, one mother can be immunized against tetanus, protecting herself, and her unborn children from the fatal disease. For more information about the event and how to register a team for trivia night, visit the event’s homepage.

In order to help promote Hickman’s fundraiser, Sparky’s has created a Harry Potter themed flavor to their collection: Butterbeer. When wedged between the vibrant array of fruit flavors, the coffee-colored dairy product looks slightly out of place, but one spoonful of the butterbeer ice cream proves that it’s there for a reason.

The cold, creamy treat is packed with rich flavor. Employees at Sparky’s say the flavor is a combination of butterscotch and root beer extract, which captures the fictional wizarding beverage’s taste perfectly. But you’ll need to get there quick, because this flavor will be disappearing from the store Saturday, June 16.

Thanks for the sensible critique. Me and my neighbor were just preparing to do some research on this. We got a grab a book from our local library but I think I learned more from this post. I’m very glad to see such wonderful information being shared freely out there.

Reminds me from the “street lit” debate.
