With two burgeoning film festivals in Columbia, it’s no secret that CoMo is becoming a hotbed for filmmaking. Ragtag Cinema is hosting a showcase of films made by local filmmakers on Wed. 8:45 p.m. The following films will be shown:
- The Secrets of Nature Revealed (10 min., 2013): Chad Freidrichs (The Pruitt-Igoe Myth) provides viewers with a sneak preview on his new feature film, which explores the history of science.
- The Body of Richard Baker (22 min., 2012) and Starman (25 min., 2011): Ryan Wylie tells the story of mystery-solving doctors in The Body of Richard Baker and the hunt for a man who’s been living in the Golden Gate Park for 30 years in Starman.
- Threshold: Chase Tompson, best known for his work on Zielinski, has a new cliffhanger to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
- X-Ray Man: The U.S. government tried to make “supertroops” to withstand nuclear wars during the midst of the Cold War. Kerri Yost focuses on an individual involved in these efforts.
