Music > The Vox Playlist: LGBTQ Hip-Hop Edition
This year has been quite the whirlwind for hip-hop’s LGBTQ community. In February Azealia Banks, the rapper behind the awesomely nasty “212,” came out as bisexual; then this summer Le1f joined the ranks of up-and-coming gay hip-hop artists; in July, prominent R&B artist and sometime-Odd Future collective member Frank Ocean came out as gay; and now there’s Mykki Blanco: hip-hop’s latest rising star, and a cross-dressing one at that.
We decided it was time to put together a little playlist to usher in the newest members of hip-hop’s “Gay mafia.”
Stay tuned in the coming days for Vox’s new Soundcloud channel and Turntable.fm account!
