The TARDIS

The vehicle the Doctor from Doctor Who uses to travel all of time and space. It's full name is the Time And Relative Dimension In Space, or the TARDIS for short.

No major announcements this week, but lots of small announcements. As always, Vox has you covered in case you missed what happened this week in geek.

Around Town: Prerelease events for Return to Ravnica, the new expansion set for Magic: The Gathering, happened this weekend! Feel free to share your experience with Vox in the comment section, or on our social media!

Apologized: Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, for the illustrations on Apple’s own map app, to iOS 6 users. Not included: an announcement that Google Maps is coming back.

Insulted: Single-player-only players of Call of Duty franchise, by Treyarch, the developer, who is upset that there are players who don’t play the incredibly popular multiplayer part of of the game.

Discovered: A species of mouse with a healing rate comparable to Wolverine from X-men. Scientists hope to try and isolate the gene that carries this trait in hopes that one day it might be transferable to humans.

Almost Confirmed: An episode of Doctor Who directed by Peter Jackson in New Zealand, after he and the director of Doctor Who both said they’d love to shoot it. The only things still on the table: negotiating Jackson’s pay for the episode.

Replaced: “Cowabunga,” the catchphrase of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, with “Booyakasha,” in a reboot of the animated TV series by Nickelodeon. Totally not rad, brah.

Desperate: NBC, for new shows, as evidenced by its recent announcement that it intends to develop a crime drama staring Thomas Edison.
