VoxTalk highlights three albums from a strong week of releases, recent tour developments and other music news.

New albums (released Sept. 25):

deadmau5- >Album Title Goes Here<

On top of deadmau5′s usual energetic dance beats, the new album also features an impressive line up of collaborations. My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way, Imogen Heap and Cypress Hill are just a few of the artists that share their talents on these tracks.

Lupe Fiasco- Food and Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album, Part 1

The rap master is back. Making up for the blacked out album cover, Lupe has a lot to say in his new tracks, touching on everything from American urban culture to heartbreak.

No Doubt- Push and Shove

After an 11-year wait, fans can finally get their hands on a new No Doubt album. Although it doesn’t quite live up to the hype, but there are some great tracks waiting to become hits.

Tours:

  • Swedish House Mafia have announced dates for their final tour ever; see them while you still can.
  • The Joy Formidable will be heading out on tour next month accompanied by Muse on select days.

Other tidbits:

Vox pick of the week:

Maroon 5- “One More Night”

Maroon 5′s latest single is reminiscent of previous hits, but it brings a touch of newness along with an extremely catchy chorus. This track tells the tale of a man who can’t seem to shake his affections for his love interest no matter what he does. The beat will keep your toes tapping even though the subject matter is a bit on the frustrated side.

One Response to This week in music (Sept. 22-29)

  1. Marcin says:

Thanks so much for helping to prmotoe Enation! I’ve had the pleasure of meeting them and hearing them play live and I can honestly say they are not only very talented, but also humble, appreciative and just plain real! They make it so easy to be a fan which is a big part of how/why they won your contest. The 5 fantabulous members of Enation deserve every good thing that comes their way including a billboard in Times Square!!!
