Let’s take a moment to collectively gush about one of the greatest Halloween flicks of all time (and possibly some of Sarah Jessica Parker’s finest work), Hocus Pocus. Here are seven hilarious, quirky, weird, but surely memorable quotes from this Disney hit.
——-
Winifred Sanderson: Oh look, another glorious morning. Makes me SICK! (This is how I wake up every morning)
——-
(When entering the high school in Salem)
Sarah Sanderson: What is this place?
Mary Sanderson: It reeks of children!
Winifred Sanderson: It is a prison for children.
——-
(Sarah being, well, typical Sarah…and then Winnie punches her)
Winifred Sanderson: Sisters, All Hallow’s Eve has become a night of frolic, where children wear costumes and run amok!
Sarah Sanderson: Amok! Amok, amok, amok, amok, amok…
——-
(Apparently fiery furnaces are perfect places for learning French)
Winifred Sanderson: [Exiting the clay oven where they were lured by a learn-to-speak French tape] Hello, I want my book … Bonjour, je veux mon livre.
——-
(Never let any of them babysit your young siblings and/or children)
Winifred Sanderson: You know, I’ve always wanted a child. And now I think I’ll have one… on toast!
——-
(Speaking of kids, who could forget that creepy bus driver?)
Winifred Sanderson: [laughs] “We desire… children.
Bus Driver: Hey, it may take me a couple of tries, but I don’t think there will be a problem.
——-
(Winnie’s favorite vacation spot)
Billy Butcherson: Go to hell!
Winifred Sanderson: Oh! I’ve been there, thank you. I found it quite lovely.
——-
(Most important, never mess with any of the Sanderson sisters)
Winifred Sanderson: Billy! I killed you once; I shall kill you again, you maggoty malfeasence!
——-
But, quotes aside, let’s not forget the sweetest/creepiest lullaby from SJP, nor one musical number for the Halloween record books:
Happy Halloween, all!
