With three major games dropping in the last week, geeks have been busy. Here’s a rundown of some of this week’s news you should know, but might have missed.
Released: Pokemon Black and White 2, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and Dishonored, in the same week. In other news, every gamer everywhere is broke. Can’t we have some of these games release in the summer when the market’s dead?
Delicious: A dice set made out of chocolate, now available from ThinkGeek. Now you can roll your dice and eat them too?
Revealed: Concept art for the never-made Jurrasic Park IV, which gives us a good idea why it got canned; human-dinosaur hybrids. Let’s file this one under “Never.”
Attempted: The highest freefall ever, from 120,000 feet, by questionably sane skydiver Felix Baumgartner. Sadly, the jump was aborted due to “gusty winds,” but word is they’ll try again soon.
Settled: Whether or not Jack could have lived at the end of Titanic, by the Mythbusters, who proved both that there was space for him and that the piece could have supported their combined weight without sinking. Sorry, Titanic fans.
Parodied: Pokemon, by PETA in their flash game Pokemon Black and Blue, the latest in their line of parody games protesting support of objectionable things in video games. Why is Pokemon the target? Because the game portrays organized pet fighting in a positive light. Obviously.
