it's kind of a darker setting than i'm used to, but it makes it more comfortable. the only drawback i found was that the entrees, appetizers and sides are all separate, which leads to a pricy bill

I'm could go either way on this place as a restaurant, but as a bar it's my favorite in Columbia. There are always comfortable places to sit, it's not overcrowded by sloppy-drunk kids, the live music is a major plus, the atmosphere is great, and any of the juice-based drinks are amazing.
The service isn't anything to write home about, but taking all other things into consideration, I'd reccommend Forge and Vine as a comfortable, laid-back place for drinks anytime.

The ambiance is great. It has a rustic cabin feel to the restaurant. However, I found the food WAY too salty. I went with four friends and tasted the Baked Crab Dip, Forge Steak sandwich and Buffalo Burger.
