Had enough of the stuffy museum air? In a city where hiking boots are a closet staple, getting outdoors is what Denver is all about. If you’re not ready to conquer the rugged trails, head out for some sightseeing around a few of Denver’s most interesting neighborhoods.
16th Street Mall:

Location: One-mile stretch along 16th Street, from Broadway to Wynkoop.
Cherry Creek:
This is the place to be for affluent, side-street boutique shopping and luxury housing ogling. This area is best for those who prefer Neiman Marcus or Tiffany & Co. to the 16th Street Mall’s American Apparel and PacSun.
Location: From Colorado Boulevard to University Boulevard in between Sixth Avenue and Exposition Avenue.
LoDo (Lower Downtown):
One of Denver’s most popular districts with more than 100 restaurants and numerous clubs, boutiques and art galleries.
Location: Bordered by the Platte River, Speer Boulevard, 23rd and Lawrence streets.
Highland:
A historic neighborhood filled with 19th-century architecture, which has perked up in recent years as hipster-types started renovating the Victorian homes.
Location: On the bluffs northeast of Denver.
Washington Park:
Featuring two flower gardens, two lakes and 162 acres of room for sports and recreation. Just west of the park, the nearby South Pearl Street district delivers a solid punch of entertainment and dining.
Location: Between Colorado Boulevard and University Boulevard, from Yale Avenue to Hampden Avenue.
