The Good: The kid blew it
In Blaine, Wash., a 13-year-old boy used his nose to inflate 213 balloons in just one hour. To break the world record, each balloon had to be 20 inches in diameter. Amazingly, this wasn’t his first attempt. In February, he blew up 184 balloons only to find out the record didn’t count because he’d handed them to his dad to tie. During the contest, the boy balloon-blower asked his mom, “Does this count as practicing my trumpet?”
The Bad: Hash packing
A man is in critical condition in southern Thailand after swallowing 60 condoms filled with hashish, a total of 28 ounces of bud. His friends took the 51-year-old to the hospital after he complained of stomach pains. An X-ray showed that three of the condoms burst inside the man’s belly. If his condition improves, the man will be charged with drug trafficking, thus leaving him high and dry.
The Ugly: Rat tale
Michele Diller, a 64-year-old woman from Rochester, Wash., has been forced from her home after allowing rats to overrun it. Diller initially bought the rats to feed to her pet snakes. However, she instead befriended the rodents and let them breed and take over the home, which will now be razed. Diller agreed to move into an assisted living facility in order to get back her cat, which was seized by animal control.
