In a city with 743 physicians per capita — the national average is 170 — Columbians should be in tip-top shape. But about 12 percent of Boone County residents wake up every day without health insurance on their side. Unfortunately, our bodies betray us, and we lose against foes such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes. Although we’re winning other battles, these stats show that our health is not just a silly game.
