The good
Mizzou six, Kansas nothing! The 2009 NFL draft will be remembered as a record event for MU, which had six Tigers get drafted. Jeremy Maclin and Ziggy Hood were first-round picks. Apparently the Jayhawks rank lower than Mr. Irrelevant.
The bad
Talledega Nights! On the final lap of the Aaron’s 499 at Talledega Super Speedway on Sunday, Carl Edwards’ car was sent airborne with fewer than 500 yards to the finish line. His
No. 99 Ford exploded when it hit the track’s fence. Seven spectators suffered minor injuries from the debris. An uninjured Edwards finished the race Ricky Bobby-style by jogging across the
finish line. That warrants Chariots of Fire music.
The ugly
The liberals are coming! Not every business has been negatively affected by the recession. Guns and ammo in St. Louis are flying off the shelves so quickly that shop owners are having difficulty keeping them stocked. Al Rothweiler, a co-owner of Mid-America Arms, believes the trend stems from fears that President Obama will restrict gun ownership or impose severe taxes on ammunition.
