Fashion Week comes to Columbia with Ragtag Cinema’s Couture in Columbia, High Fashion Fundraiser, and the documentary film Valentino: The Last Emporer, about the couturier Valentino Garavani. Fashionistas and filmgoers should don dazzling outfits to impress judges who will award prizes.
WHEN: July 17, doors open at 7:30 p.m.

The kids might finally sit in the car without asking, “Are we there yet?” during a drive-in movie at the Moberly Five and Drive. Enjoy new releases such as Land of the Lost from the car. The Five and Drive hosts ABC17 Night on June 12, July 10 and August 7, and the cost is just $7 a carload.

Summer is full of inflatables—beach balls, water wings, movie screens. Family-friendly movies show on a giant inflatable screen at Flat Branch Park as part of the US Cellular “Movies in the Park” series. Next up is Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa on June 12.

If you liked 2001: A Space Odyssey, see The Planets at the Missouri Theatre. Viewers will go on a tour of space choreographed to a live performance by the Missouri Symphony Orchestra. Patrick Daugherty of the Missouri NASA Education Program will narrate.
