Descend the stairs to Broadway Brewery, located between Eighth and Ninth streets on Broadway.
February 4, 2010 | 12:00 a.m. CST
Go above or below ground to check out the “highs and lows” of the District.
Walk down the stairs under American Shoe on East Broadway, and you’ll discover Broadway Brewery, a new pub that opened in September. The cooks there make a variety of American foods and bring in produce from local sources. Broadway Brewery makes its own beers including pale ales, wheats, porters, ambers and dry stouts. In fact, the brewing tanks are visible to the public through a glass window behind the bar. Local art hanging on the walls gives the hometown pub a modern feel.
