COWBOY IN COLUMBIA He makes audiences angry by playing a father with a hot temper in the blockbuster hit Friday Night Lights. He makes listeners cry by singing about how to “Live Like You Were Dying.” He can act. He can sing. He can marry Faith Hill. This man’s got it.
Finally bringing his Southern voice to our part of the Midwest, the Grammy award-winning country artist will make his first appearance in Columbia. The night will begin with opening acts Lady Antebellum and The Lost Trailers.
Southern Voice was released in October 2009, but the tour did not begin until 2010 so that McGraw could wrap up his commitments with The Blind Side, a movie he co-starred in with Sandra Bullock. The single “Southern Voice” has been on the U.S. Billboard country songs chart for 20 weeks and is currently ranked No. 3.
A promotor in St. Louis approached Mizzou Arena about hosting a concert during this tour, and Event and Facility Coordinator Kathy Ungles says they couldn’t say no. Ungles estimates there are only 500 tickets left. Don’t miss your chance to see this much talent wrapped up in a cowboy hat and Wranglers.

It’s a high-energy and entertaining show with a clear message: “Embrace what you have because you don’t know how long you will have it,” Phillips says.
Enjoyment is guaranteed with this group of talented actors and actresses. “The cast is really close,” says Pyper Reynolds, a chorus member. “We have a really good chemistry on stage.” The show features racially and socially diverse characters, who refuse to believe bohemia is dead.
This is the perfect event for RENT fans, musical enthusiasts, students living in a Bohemian rhapsody, and of course, it’s a date option for hopeless romantics. No day but today to rock out to this electrifying musical whirlwind.
