The old Boone Tavern space is now Bleu's location. Bleu revamped the space but kept the location's walnut wood accents.

The restaurant biz is no picnic. There is no Easy-Bake oven, and your mom isn’t the only customer. In the real world, owners and staff keep your favorite food joints alive and constantly changing. We have compiled a quick update of recent changes to make sure you know where to grab your next bite.
Opening:
Cheddar’s Casual Café — Taking over the old location of Chevys Fresh Mex, this Texas-based chain started construction on April 2. The new restaurant hopes to be open by fall. We’ll see you then.
Closed:
Red and Moe Pizzeria — North Ninth St. is lacking in pizza. On March 24 we said goodbye to the town’s sustainable pizzeria. We will miss its monthly menu changes.
Expanded:
Broadway Brewery — The local favorite has added a separate 65-seat dining room, a display case for fresh food and a raised platform for live acoustic music during the week. It now serves its customers from a kitchen that is about two and a half times larger. Most importantly, it still has beer.
Second Location:
Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken — Lee’s Chicken joined the Phillips 66 Petro Mart at 2102 W. Ash St. on March 26. This is the family-owned restaurant’s second location in Columbia. The more chicken, the merrier.
New location:
Bleu Restaurant & Wine Bar — Bleu opened this week in Boone Tavern’s old location at 811 E. Walnut St. The move allows the restaurant to accommodate 440 more people, which means more room for more Bleu.
Renamed:
Café Berlin — Or should we say “Toast.” Out with the old name and in with the new.
