I want your six: Tia Fuller

Vox gets the scoop from saxophonist Tia Fuller

April 26, 2012 | 12:00 a.m. CST

Vox asks performers the six following personal questions. This week, saxophonist Tia Fuller gives her answers.

What is your favorite album?
Miles Davis’ 7 Steps to Heaven because it makes me happy every time I hear it.

If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing?
Optometry. It sparked my interest when I was younger.

What’s the best live show you’ve ever seen?
Ledesi. It was such a spirit-filled show.

What’s the craziest tour experience you’ve had?
I took some medication before a show, and it felt like the lights were going around in circles while I was performing. I think I had a cold or something.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Herbie Hancock and Prince. No explanation needed, just because they’re the artists they are.

What two things can you not tour without?
Easy. My lip gloss and bobby pins.
