Sometimes, privacy is perfection. Renting out a room in your favorite restaurant might be the best option for getting to social bliss this spring. For all of Columbia’s restaurants, only a few offer reserved dining. Vox’s reservation guide has all the information.

From Teppanyaki Grill to The Heidelberg, all of these restaurants can cater to you and your guests’ needs. You can rearrange the seating, customize the menu and even select the music that plays while you dine. So go ahead, and book in advance for a graduation dinner or your next big party because getting a private room has never been this easy.

44 Stone Public House

44 Stone offers three different rooms: a private room, a private bar and one room that’s open to the kitchen to completely customize the experience.
Capacity: three rooms: cellar room seats 10-20; kitchen room seats up to 25; main dining room seats up to 50
Fees: $500 or $750 refundable minimum, no deposit for kitchen table
Atmosphere: English pub
Gratuity: 20 percent
Booking: Rooms are reservation only. The weekends require a deposit. Reserve a
recommended two months in advance for a private room.

Coley’s American Bistro

If you aren’t sure what type of food everyone wants, Coley’s American Bistro has original and flexible twists on American fare.

Fees: $250 minimum purchase

D Rowe’s

D Rowe’s is great for a big crowd that loves American cuisine. If your party is big enough, D Rowe’s will serve mass quantities of barbecue brisket and pork. It’s hog and cattle heaven.

Fees: $250 food and drink purchase
Atmosphere: American
Gratuity: 18 percent
Booking: The room is first come, first
served, but you can book it in advance.
Menu: custom buffet for groups greater than 25; otherwise full menu

The Heidelberg

The Heidelberg is a close-to-campus hangout. It’s reserved dining room is private, but it still embodies the spirit of Columbia’s rich and interesting history with wall-to-wall local memorabilia.
Capacity: seats 40-50
Fees: none
Atmosphere: casual American
Gratuity: 17 percent
Booking: The room is first come, first served. Call no fewer than three days in advance, but you can book up to a year early. It is not available during home football weekends.

Jack’s Gourmet Restaurant

This spot has been a Columbia favorite since 1920. Jack’s Gourmet Restaurant will accommodate a group from two to 100 in its party room. Make sure to reserve in advance because it fills up quickly.
Capacity: seats up to 100
Fees: none
Atmosphere: white tablecloth
Gratuity: 18 percent
Booking: The party room is reservation only. It is first come, first served, but call at least one month in advance.

Room 38 Restaurant and Lounge

This small space feels more like a VIP room than a restaurant. It’s a great place to have a select group, celebrate a birthday or just have drinks with some friends.
Capacity: seats up to 30
Fees: $125 per hour that goes toward food and drink. If you spend short of $125 per hour, then you make up the difference.
Atmosphere: upscale nightlife
Gratuity: 20 percent
Booking: The room is first come, first served. Reserve at least one month early.

Sophia’s

This private dining experience offers an intimate evening for friends, family and colleagues. Also, its pasta-based Mediterranean dishes are always winners.

Fees: $500 minimum purchase Sunday through Wednesday, $1,000 minimum on
Thursday, $2,000 minimum Friday and Saturday
Atmosphere: upscale Mediterranean
Gratuity: no standard gratuity
