The flirtatious sword-wielding feline confronts Jack and Jill for ownership of magical beans that will lead to great fortune. She picks family-friendly, PG- or G-rated movies for the park series based on input from kids and community members. In the past, movies have averaged 350 attendees. “Now people realize that it’s part of the city’s summer activities,” she says.
The films begin about 20 minutes after dusk. Viewers can purchase popcorn, candy bars, cookies, chips, soda and water from a concession stand.
As long as the night is clear, families can bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the sounds of a summer night and the tale of a feisty feline triumphing over evil.
