SAY “HELLO” to productivity, beat procrastination and get everything on that to-do list done with Binary Hammer’s 30/30 app.
The app’s concept is simple: The user creates a new task, names it and slides the timer bar to block the number of minutes needed to get the mission accomplished. The app sends a notification when it’s time to switch tasks. Essentially, this is an enhanced version of the “Reminders” app.
Users can show their appreciation to the maker of 30/30 by paying for the app. However, this is not required; 30/30 is free to download and use, but satisfied customers can donate up to $2.99.
Cost: Free
Compatible with: iPhone and iPad
Pros: The app is intuitive because it uses basic touch-screen gestures to create, delete and edit tasks, and the entire screen changes colors to match the task at hand; the color coding prevents confusion.
Con: The 30/30 app only allows users to choose times up to 210 minutes for each task, so it’s not suitable for
long-term projects.
The verdict: 30/30 is one of the most useful new apps of 2012. It combines simple concepts with an elegant design. The pay system is sensible for users with budget constraints.
