Vox asks Columbians: What's your favorite part about the Olympics?

July 26, 2012 | 12:00 a.m. CST

JEREMIAH OWENS, 19 "Track, 100 meters. That's what I did in track, and I'm competitive, and I like to see if I can get close to them."
WILLIAM RICHARDSON, 49 "Track and field. I used to run track, and my little sister went to the Olympic trials in '88. She was a big track star."
SUSAN SCHAEFER, 65 "Hearing about the personal lives of the athletes and what they did to get where they are."
TRACY TOLER, 42 "The fact that it's a global event bringing people together from different cultures. I think people realize they are more similar than different."

ANNA HAYNES, 24 "I like the gymnastics because I'm pretty girly. Same as in the Winter Olympics. I always gravitate toward figure skating"
