Makeup trends ss18

Let your celebrity style icon, among other factors, determine what trend you should try next.

The Spring/Summer 2018 runways showcased a ton of beauty looks that are supposed to be trendy this season. Some are outrageous, others more approachable, but no matter what your beauty goals are this season, there's a trend for everyone. Take our quiz to determine which one you should try out (and when you do, tag us on Instagram @voxmagazine).

There are a bunch of beauty trends to try beyond this quiz, but here are the other results you could have received:

Upside-down eyeliner

Graphic eyeliner is definitely a thing, and this trend just expands on that. But instead of putting it on your eyelid, this trend puts it underneath your waterline. Use NYX Professional Makeup’s Slide On Eye Pencil ($7.99, Target) to get that graphic effect. For an even bolder look, choose a colorful eyeliner, such as blue, purple or green.

No-makeup makeup

This trend is a total no-brainer for summer. The thing about the “no makeup”  look is that it actually does involve a little makeup. To get the look, go through the basics of your makeup routine, like brows, concealer and mascara (if you even want to do that much). Lastly, add some lip balm (like Milani’s Keep It Smooth Moisturizing Lip Balm, $8.99, Target) to pull the whole look together.

Golden highlighter

Nothing will make you feel more like a goddess than rocking some gold highlighter. Of course, Fenty Beauty’s Freestyle Killawatt Highlighter in “Trophy Wife” blew everyone away when it was released last summer, but if that bright yellow gold is a little much for you, ease into the golden glow with Maybelline FaceStudio Master Chrome Highlighter in Molten Gold ($7.89, Target).

Bold eyeshadow colors

The runway had models wearing all sorts of bold eyeshadow colors, from neon green to aqua. This is an easy trend to rock in real life because all you have to do is buy a single shadow and just swipe it across your lid or bring it up into your crease for some added drama. Try NYX Professional Makeup’s Prismatic Eye Shadow in the shade “Mermaid” ($5.99, Target) for that neon green look.

Red-stained lips

This trend is super easy to pull off. Plus, you can wear it with a glam look or as a fun pop of color on a minimal makeup day. To get this rouge pout, try L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lip Paints in the shade “DIY Red” ($4.29, Target). If you want a glossy effect, add e.l.f. Cosmetic’s clear Lip Lacquer ($2.00, Target) on top.
