For December, we're talking Santa Clause, giving back for the holidays, a new coffee shop and local Columbia author Jill Orr.

Beat the line for a photo-op by bringing Santa right into your own home, and witness the joy as your kids get to talk to their holiday hero. Options include a visit with Santa, a story time experience or a personalized recorded message from the man in red. This alternative to in-person photos provides a safe option for a Christmas tradition.

Local author Jill Orr’s most recent title, How Not to Be Old (Even If You Are). Whether you’re looking for a holiday gift or something for yourself, this book is a refreshing break from daily stress.

Each year, this event amasses donations for charities and nonprofits across Columbia and mid-Missouri such as Wheels of Columbia, Boone County Animal Care and Second Chance. From December 1 through 31, participants can pledge to donate, help spread the word or host events to sponsor the fundraiser.
