Not heading to Roots N Blues this weekend? No worries, there’s still plenty of low-cost things to add to your schedule. Here’s just a handful of events going on in Columbia this weekend.
If you’re in the mood to sing but don’t have a ticket to Roots N Blues, then look no further. Stephens College presents the beloved Classic Mamma Mia! At the Macklanburg Playhouse. Tickets for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday shows start at $18.
Como Comedy Club at the Blue Note
It’s been a long week — you need a laugh. Head over to the Blue Note on Saturday night for some jokes and drinks. Presented by the Como Comedy Club, this event features NBC’s Last Comic Standing finalist Chris Porter.
Truman VA and Columbia Vet Center Bike and Car Show
Once again, Truman VA and Columbia Vet Center will be hosting the 6th annual Bike and Car Show Saturday morning. Free music, food and games will precede a concert by the Columbia Community Band at 2 p.m. Pro tip: the event is BYOB (bring your own blanket).
Treats Unleashed Fall Fest & Pet Expo
Columbia’s own Treats Unleashed will be hosting its first ever Fall Festival and Pet Expo on Saturday. Stop by the store’s parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to pet nail painting, raffles, free samples and the official crowning of the Festival King and Queen. All proceeds go to the Central Missouri Humane Society and The Spray Neuter Project.
National Alpaca Farm Days
Yes, you read that correctly. At Curly Eye farm, you can play with the alpacas, shop alpaca fleece products and chat with local farmers about the animals. It’s fun for the whole family because how often do you get the chance to hang with an alpaca?
And if you’re still experiencing FOMO from missing Roots N Blues, stayed tuned for our live coverage over the weekend.
